An award-winning writer, author and publisher, Denise Flaim started her journalism career as a staff writer and columnist at the daily Long Island newspaper Newsday. After 20 years, she left the paper to begin publishing celebrated dog magazines for the fancy, including The Ridgeback RegisterSighthound Review and Modern Molosser. In 2015, Denise founded Revodana Publishing, which publishes fine dog books, with a special focus on purebred dogs.

The former historian and health chair for the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States, Denise chairs the health committee for the Rhodesian Ridgeback World Congress. She is a board member of the Morris & Essex Kennel Club, and a member of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States and the Western Hound Association of Southern California. In 2016, Denise began a new chapter in her dog life by becoming an American Kennel Club judge.

Denise breeds under the Revodana kennel prefix. She lives on Long Island with her husband Fred, their teenage triplets (also known as "the two-legged litter"), and three Rhodesian Ridgebacks.
